WHAT HAPPENS IN EACH CLASS?
Peewees, Juveniles and Beginner Classes...
During the younger members and beginner classes each twirler works on Grades. The Gemini Grades are Grades 1- 6 and focus on the baton and body technique working through different levels. When a twirler has mastered all twirls and bodywork in that grade they are entered for an exam, during which they have to complete 90% in order to pass. A grade of Pass, Merit or Distinction is also awarded.
Within these classes, each twirler works on individual routines such as Struts, Solos Dance Solo and Duets. Each All younger and beginner members work on team routines (so they understand the importance of twirling and dancing in a team) dance team and pom pom team also and get the chance to perform these team routines at a Christmas Show and also at local displays.
Preteen, Junior and Senior Classes...
Each training session focuses on several different parts. We start with a full body and baton warm up which lasts half and hour. We also work on team routines (Twirl Team, Dance Team and Pom Pom Dance Team) and individual routines. At the start of each month, twirlers are told on which specific training day routines will be worked on. For example Tuesday 21st Struts and Duets will be choreographed/reviewed.
